TOP FEATURES

Assist Slipper Clutch
New for 2017 is the addition of an assist and slipper clutch.
This type of clutch was developed based on feedback from racing activities.
The clutch uses two types of cams (an assist cam and a slipper cam), offering two new functions not available on a standard clutch.

Exhaust
The exhaust system features a 4-into-2-pre-chamber-into-2 layout.
Silencer endcaps create a quad style image. New end cap design with larger exhaust exists add to the sporty looks. Joint pipes linking the exhaust headers are larger (oval shape), contributing to increased feeling and response at all rpm.

Comfortable Ergonomics
The Ninja 1000’s relaxed riding position was designed to accommodate everything from city riding to sport riding.
This blend of comfort and control allows the rider to enjoy a variety of riding situations
Separate, raised handlebars contribute to the sporty, comfortable riding position.

Power Mode selection
Riders can choose from Full Power or Low Power mode. Because Power Mode can be selected independently of KTRC, riders have a number of available combinations which are suitable for range of riding situations.

KTRC (Kawasaki Traction Control)
The 3-mode KTRC system covers a wide variety of riding conditions.
Mode 1 and 2 offer enhanced sport riding performance.
Mode 3 offers increased stability when traversing slippery surfaces.

Exciting Engine
The powerful engine pulls strongly from all rpm and does not let up before the red-line.
Adding to rider exhilaration, the engine delivers superb response, a strong mid-range hit and an intoxicating intake howl.
More direct response thanks to revised engine settings adds to the Ninja 1000’s sporty street riding potential.
Focus has been given on engine tuning so that the rider gets the full feeling when opening the throttle. The strong torque feeling and mid-range hit of the previous model remains, but changes made to the engine and ECU settings result in a more direct throttle response.

Aluminium Twin-tube Frame
The highly rigid aluminium frame features a high degree of mass centralisation, ensuring a balance of sharp turning and firm handling.
The frame is a 5-piece cast aluminium construction, consisting of steering stem, left and right main frames, and two cross pieces.
The two main frame components have open C-shaped cross sections and were die-cast to ensure a smooth surface finish.
