MY19 KX250, KX450 and KLX450R launched in India.

26th Oct 2018 India Kawasaki announces launch of MY19 KX250, KX450 and KLX450R in India. For over 40 years, KX brand motocrosser is extremely successful in putting riders on the top step of the podium. To maintain its edge in this fiercely competitive class, the MY19 KX450 benefits from a new engine mounted in its leanest chassis to date, enabling it to turn even quicker lap times, and make it the most powerful machine in the paddock. Complementing its already high performance, a number of new features – including finger-follower valve actuation, electric start and a hydraulic clutch, which are all firsts for a Kawasaki motocrosser – further elevate its race-winning potential.

While the KX450’s engine has always been a strength, the KX250 has an easy to use high rpm range and outstanding suspension. The MY19 KX450 gets even more powerful engine along with electric start. Finger-follower valve enables larger-diameter valves and more aggressive cams. Kawasaki’s first hydraulic clutch on a motocrosser offers more direct feel and lighter lever action. In case of KLX450R, an LED rear light has been fitted for the benefit of the distant competition along with digital instrumentation which includes a speedometer, twin tripmeters, odometer and clock.

Speaking on the launch, Mr. Yutaka Yamashita, Managing Director of India Kawasaki Motors, said, “Our motocross models have been performing well and KX250 especially continues to have great success in various national and global competitions. Motocross enthusiastic now will have more exciting experience with KX450 and KX250 and as far as Enduro enthusiastic are concerned the KLX450R is a complete package with power performance, electric start and performance components.”

In the other notable changes, the KX450 now has a new lightweight aluminium perimeter frame, which has revised rigidity. While the addition of electric start and the return to a coil-spring fork add weight, efforts were made to keep the weight gain to a minimum. Matching the KX450’s increased power, increased front and rear traction ensure the bike can put power to the ground and get around corners quickly. A new front brake master cylinder offers better initial control, while contributing to overall braking performance. All-new bodywork (except the front fender and number plate) was designed to facilitate rider movement.

The KX250 is priced at INR 7,43,000 (ex-showroom Delhi), the KX450 is priced at 7,79,000 (ex-showroom Delhi) and the KLX450R is priced at 8,49,000 (ex-showroom Delhi). Customers can visit the nearest dealership booking and delivery related details.
